School council members and other stakeholders from schools throughout Kentucky have access to interactive online training provided through the Kentucky Virtual Schools (KYVS) delivery system.
WHO CAN TAKE ONLINE TRAINING? Anyone can consider completing online SBDM training using KYVS. Even if you are not a school council member, you can still take a course for your own enrichment and earn Effective Instructional Leadership Act (EILA) credit.
WHY TRAIN ONLINE? These innovative online courses are provided for new or experienced school council members who may not be able to attend a traditional face-to-face training session, and who need to earn the required 3 or 6 hours of training. The course is also available to whole councils who may want to take advantage of the "anywhere - anytime" learning flexibility of the online training format.
WHO FACILITATES THE COURSES? Each course is facilitated by a KDE-endorsed SBDM network trainer. Our facilitators are experts at assisting individuals who train online.
WHAT TYPES OF TRAINING ARE OFFERED? Trainers have developed both introductory and experienced member training courses for online use. For specific information, contact the e-Learning Kentucky at 502-564-4772 or elearningkyinquiry@education.ky.gov.
DO I HAVE TO BE AT A SCHOOL COMPUTER? Because this course is available on the World Wide Web twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, council members can work from any computer where email and Internet access is available.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Current costs are listed in the KYVS PD information materials. Click the e-Learning KY tab for current information. Registration is always open at the following link: Click here to register online.
WHO DO I CALL FOR MORE INFORMATION? Call the KYVS Help Desk toll free at 866-432-0008.
