MOCK TRIAL EVENT SET FOR PUPIL TRANSPORTATION CONFERENCE

               (FRANKFORT, Ky.) – A Mock Trial event will be held at the 16th Annual Pupil Transportation Conference on Monday, June 30, in the Grand Ballroom of the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

            The Mock Trial will center on a simulated case involving an accident in which a student was struck by a passing motorist. The court proceedings will feature witnesses and expert testimony.

            Mock Trial participants include real-life attorneys, Kentucky State Police personnel serving as bailiffs, school district superintendents, local school board members, representatives from the United States Department of Transportation, members of the Kentucky General Assembly, staff from the Kentucky Department of Education, representatives of the Kentucky School Boards Association, school bus industry engineers and many other state and national figures.

            The trial will begin at 1 p.m. and end with a verdict at 3:30. Conference attendees will be able to meet and talk with participants at the close of the trial.

            The 16th Annual Pupil Transportation Conference is set for June 29 through July 3 at the Galt House East in Louisville. The conference is designed for school district employees and others who are interested in pupil transportation. Sessions and presentations provide information and resources related to state and federal requirements, training, safety and innovations.
