Information Literacy … equips individuals to take advantage of the opportunities inherent in the global information society. Information literacy should be a part of every students educational experience. ASCD (Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development) urges schools, colleges and universities to integrate information literacy programs into learning programs for all students. (Spitzer, Kathleen L., Eisenberg, Micchael B. & Lowe, Carrie A. (1998). Information Literacy: Essential Skills for the Information Age. Syracuse, NY: Syracuse University. p. 57.)
