Kentucky Continuous Monitoring Process (KCMP)

Last Updated on Saturday, November 08, 2008 at 10:01 PM

The KCMP is used by school districts and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to continuously collect data in a standardized, consistent manner for self-improvement to help ensure the appropriate implementation of IDEA requirements and to improve outcomes for students with disabilities as outlined in Kentucky’s six-year State Performance Plan (SPP). When available, KDE provides district level data to districts.  These data are to be used to examine trends over time and provide additional information for program planning and to achieve and maintain compliance with federal and state IDEA requirements. It is recommended that the KCMP be utilized in developing and revising the CDIP to the greatest extent feasible.

The KCMP indicators have been intentionally redesigned this year to match the SPP indicators.

This website contains a new KCMP Instruction Manual that consolidates all training materials into a single location.  A district-specific KCMP Monitoring Document will be emailed to all Directors of Special Education by August 20, 2008.  Please use the contact information below if the document has not been received by then.

Each district must submit their KCMP data in the 2007-08 KCMP Monitoring Document no later than November 15, 2008.  The completed 2007-08 KCMP Monitoring Document must be submitted to KDE no later than January 30, 2009.  See the technical instructions section of the KCMP Instruction Manual for information on how to submit the document.
