Books to Read on Line: The Internet is wonderful, but it's hardly a bookstore. While there's every sort of information available and you can buy books on-line, you still can't browse through a book before you buy it like you can in a real store. That's a serious drawback. So, We've posted the complete texts, or a significant portion, of the following books. Now you can browse through each book as long as you wish so you'll know before you place your order that it's what you really want.

Education World Summer Reading List: has also collected a variety of suggested summer reading lists for children on their Web site.

Engaging Students in Reading with the World Wide Web: This virtual, on-line course will guide educators through discovering resources on the Internet to engage students in meaningful reading activities. Participants will also create and share innovative literacy activities to use in all areas of the curriculum. Cost: $70

International Children's Digital Library (ICDL)- An international collection that reflects both the diversity and quality of children's literature.  Currently, the collection includes materials donated from 27 cultures in 15 languages.

Read a Poem Each Day - Poetry should be an important part of our daily lives. By just spending a few minutes reading a poem each day, new worlds can be revealed. Billy Collins, our national poet laureate, gives us 180 poems.
