The Fall ILP training offers opportunities for all middle and high schools. For those who have been previously trained, Session 3: What’s new, different and important about the ILP 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. will be of great benefit. (see description below)
Administrator, counselors, advisors and teachers are encouraged to register for a single session of their choice, all three sessions, or, any combination of sessions best meeting their individual needs. All sessions are at no cost to the schools and there are EILA hours for these sessions.

Session 1: Introduction to the Student ILP |
|
8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Who should attend:
- first time users of the ILP system- counselors, advisors, teachers, school administrators
- counselors, advisors, and teachers who attended a previous ILP training session and desire a refresher session
What will be covered: This will be a hands-on, interactive session during which participants will learn:
1.) how to access the student ILP;
2.) about the key components of the ILP ;
3.) how the ILP interlinks with the career assessment, career exploration and school exploration modules in the Career Cruising system;
4.) about the interlink between the ILP and Kentucky Go Higher;
5.) about the ILP Completion Standards by grade level ;
6.) about and practice developing an ILP.

Session 2: Introduction to the School ILP
(Administrative management tools and reports for counselors, advisors and teachers)

10:30 a.m. to Noon
Who should attend:
- first time users of the school ILP tool
- counselors, advisors, faculty, and/or, administrative staff who are designated as “ILP Administrators” for their school or district and need additional training on the School ILP administrative tool
- counselors and advisors who will be reviewing and monitoring the progress students will be making towards the completion of their ILPs
If you have been designated an ILP Administrator for your school, it means that you have been entrusted with the responsibility for the overall management of the implementation and usage of the ILP system at your school, including the authority to add additional counselors, advisors and teachers with access to the student ILP data and reports, manage ILP program settings, assign students to counselors, advisors and teachers, map high school courses to the Kentucky Common Course Codes, generate ILP usage and data reports for your school, etc.
What will be covered: This will also be a hands-on, interactive session covering the School ILP functions, including how to:
1.) manage student data including how to locate the usernames and passwords for the individual student ILPs;
2.) review student ILPs and resumes;
3.) progress towards meeting the ILP completion standards by grade level;
4.) send messages to students;
5.) manage parent access;
6.) utilize the annual ILP review functions;
7.) setup additional counselors, advisors and teachers with access to the School ILP;
8.) assign students to counselors, advisors and teachers;
9.) map high school courses to the Kentucky Common Course Codes;
10.) usage of the ILP data reports.

Session 3: What’s new, different and important about the ILP 2008! |
|
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Who should attend:
- counselors, advisors, faculty and administrative staff who have not yet implemented the ILP in their schools or districts
- any counselors, advisors, faculty, and/or, administrative staff who have implemented the ILP and are looking for additional ideas and methods
- any counselors, advisors and teachers who have successfully launched the ILP in their schools and districts and are willing to share their implementation plans with others
What will be covered:
This session will consist of a presentation, designed discussion questions, and, a round table session for sharing implementation successes and implementation challenges. Specific topics that will be discussed include:
1.) what to expect in 2008- Intervention Plans, Alternative Completion options and Gifted and Talented Services Plans;
2.) how schools can benefit from ALL students engaging in their ILP;
3.) the ILP requirements under Kentucky Legislation 704KAR3:305-Minimum High School Graduation Requirements ;
4.) accountability for the ILP;
5.) connections to help students understand importance of ILP and academics to their careers;
6.) district and individual school planning using ILP data .
