Thinkfinity Certified Trainers are highly skilled educators, trained and certified by the Verizon Foundation to roll out Thinkfinity resources either within a specific region of the country or on a nationwide basis. Thinkfinity Certified Trainers help teachers and Field Trainers integrate Thinkfinity online resources into the classroom. They are selected from a large pool of talented educators and certified by the Verizon Foundation to conduct Teacher and Trainer sessions. Thinkfinity Certified Trainers also must maintain a consistently high level of quality. As a result, just like Thinkfinity Staff Trainer sessions, every Thinkfinity Certified Trainer session is surveyed, with the results being used to continually improve the organization's professional development efforts.
Attendees of Trainer sessions are known as Field Trainers. Field Trainers subsequently conduct MarcoPolo training sessions in their respective service areas, regions, districts and schools. Typically, Field Trainers conduct half-hour to full-day Teacher sessions designed to help teachers use Thinkfinity online resources effectively in their classrooms. High quality is a critical part of Thinkfinity Field Training, so Field Trainings are also surveyed and all scores are reported to the trainer and the Verizon Foundation. Exemplary Field Trainers are recognized through the Field Trainer Recognition Program.
The Thinkfinity Professional Development program is designed to:
· Meet educators' needs for high quality professional development that guides teachers through the vast network of resources on the Internet.
· Provide teachers with the tools and materials necessary to effectively use Internet content to benefit themselves and their students.
· Help educators work with their peers to create useful lesson plans, activities and research exercises.
· Leverage a scalable training model to train the largest number of teachers and produce the greatest educational impact.
